About the founder

The founder, D.N. Sewell, PhD, LCSW, has a vast educational background. She holds the following degrees:
​
  • Bachelor of Science in Psychology,
  • Master of Social Work,
  • Master of Arts in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, and
  • Doctor of Philosophy degree in Social Work Planning and Administration and Social Science.

In addition to her formal education, Dr. Sewell has over 20 years of Social Work experience with a diverse work history. She has worked with the following populations: academic, adults, geriatrics, mental health, HIV/AIDS, military personnel and their families, corrections, and substance abuse.

Dr. Sewell has also served in capacities such as: Project Manager, Administrator, Psychotherapist, Facilitator, Care/Case Manager, Clinical Director, and Counselor.

She currently holds the following licenses/certifications:
  • Internal Behavioral Health Consultant through Air Force Behavioral Health Optimization Program. 
  • Independently Licensed Clinical Social Worker in AL, FL, GA, DC, IA, NJ, NV, OH, TX, and VA.
  • Master Addiction Counselor through NAADAC. 
  • Crisis Intervention Training through Georgia National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI).
  • Level-I Facilitator for Active Choices Curriculum (Healthy Relationships). 
  • Certified Anger Management Specialist. 
  • Cognitive Processing Therapy (Department of the Army).
